Sparrow + Wolf Happy Hour. Off-Strip

Sparrow + Wolf is Chef Brian Howard's creative American restaurant on Spring Mountain Road, built on a constantly changing seasonal menu and a serious cocktail program rather than celebrity branding. The short, late happy hour is the easiest way in: Monday through Friday, 5 to 6:30pm.

The cocktails are the reason to plan around that window. At $6, they are properly built craft drinks, the kind that go for far more on the Strip. Beer is $5 and wine is $7. The food rotates with the kitchen, but the happy hour plates land at $8 for small plates, $9 dumplings, and $10 sliders, all worth ordering a couple to pair with the bar.

The room is industrial-chic with an open kitchen and dim lighting, and the crowd runs heavily local: industry folks, foodies, and couples who know better than to overpay downtown. It stays intimate without feeling precious.

It is in Chinatown, so plan on a car or rideshare. The 90-minute window is tight, so arrive close to 5pm rather than drifting in late. Sit at the bar for the best read on what the cocktail team is excited about and ask what is on the menu that day, since it changes often. Weeknights are calmer; weekends usually need a reservation.
