Wynn & Encore Happy Hour Guide: Luxury Deals That Actually Exist
Let's get the bad news out of the way: Wynn and Encore have a reputation for being too fancy for happy hour, and that reputation is mostly deserved. Steve Wynn built these properties to separate rich people from their money, not to offer $5 well specials to degenerates like us. But, and this is important, there ARE deals here, you just have to know where to look and when to show up.
This guide covers every bar on both properties, the handful that actually do happy hour, and the insider moves that make drinking at Wynn/Encore less painful for your wallet.
The Wynn/Encore Reality Check
Truth #1: Most bars here don't do traditional happy hour. They don't need to. People spending $500/night on rooms don't care about $3 off a martini.
Truth #2: The bars that DO offer deals are genuinely nice, better quality than most Strip happy hours. You're getting Wynn-level service and ingredients at Bellagio-level prices.
Truth #3: You can't dress like a slob. No tank tops, no flip-flops, no basketball jerseys. They'll still serve you, but the bartender energy will be ice-cold.
The Smart Play: Hit the few spots with real deals, enjoy the Wynn ambiance without the Wynn prices, then bail before dinner when everything gets expensive.
The Wynn/Encore Property Layout
Both casinos are connected, and you can walk between them in about 5 minutes. Wynn is the original property (opened 2005), Encore is the newer tower (2008). They share a parking garage but have separate entrances from the Strip.
Starting Point: Park at the main Wynn garage (free for Nevada residents, $20-30 for visitors unless you're staying there). Enter through Wynn, work your way to Encore, loop back.
Eastside Lounge (Encore), The Only Real Happy Hour
Location: Encore casino floor, east side (near the poker room)
Happy Hour: Monday-Thursday 5pm-7pm
Type: The One That Actually Tries ($$$)
The Deal:
- $12 cocktails (normally $18-22)
- $10 wine by the glass (normally $16-20)
- $8 draft beers (normally $12-14)
- $12-16 small plates (shrimp cocktail, sliders, truffle fries)
Real Talk: This is IT. This is the only traditional happy hour at Wynn/Encore that actually feels like a discount. The cocktails are legit, fresh juice, premium spirits, proper technique. The bartenders are trained, not just pouring. You're getting the Wynn experience at 30-40% off.
Must Order: The Eastside Martini (gin, cucumber, elderflower, $12 during HH). It's their signature and it's actually excellent. The truffle fries ($14) are stupid expensive but stupid good.
Warning: This is NOT a loud, rowdy happy hour spot. It's intimate seating, low lighting, quiet jazz. If you want to crush cheap beers with the boys, wrong place. This is date night or "let's feel fancy without going broke."
Seating: Maybe 30-40 seats total. Gets full by 5:30pm on Thursdays. Monday/Tuesday you'll have no problem.
Walking Time to Next Stop: 5 minutes through the shopping corridor to Wynn's Parasol Up/Down
Parasol Up & Parasol Down (Wynn), The "Sort Of" Happy Hour
Location: Wynn casino floor, center (under the carousel bar installation)
Happy Hour: None officially, BUT...
Type: Timing Hack ($$-$$$)
The Deal: There's no advertised happy hour, but Parasol Down (the lower level) has a "locals appreciation" thing that's super inconsistent. Sometimes it's $10 cocktails 4-6pm on weekdays, sometimes it doesn't exist for months.
Real Talk: I'm including this because when the deals ARE running, it's one of the prettiest bars in Vegas and worth a stop. The carousel bar rotates, there are massive umbrellas and flowers everywhere, it's very Instagram-wife approved.
The Move: Walk by and ask. If they're running specials, great. If not, get ONE drink here for the vibe (it's gorgeous), then move on. Don't park here for multiple rounds at full price, you'll spend $25 per cocktail and hate yourself.
Must Order: If prices are normal, skip cocktails and get champagne by the glass ($16-20). At least you're getting something that's supposed to be expensive.
Lakeside (Wynn), The Patio Play
Location: Overlooking the Lake of Dreams, outside patio
Happy Hour: Seasonal (usually March-October), Monday-Friday 4pm-6pm
Type: Scenery Tax ($$$)
The Deal (when active):
- $10 draft beers
- $12 house wine
- $14 well cocktails
- $10-14 bar snacks (hummus, olives, cheese plate)
Real Talk: Lakeside is only worth it if the weather is perfect and you want to sit outside by the man-made lake with the waterfall show. The deals are MEH, you're paying for location, not value. But on a beautiful spring evening? It's actually pretty great.
Best Time: April, May, September, October. Summer is too hot (110°F at 4pm, no thanks), and winter it's often closed.
Warning: The waterfall/music show runs every 30 minutes. It's cool the first time, annoying if you're trying to have a conversation.
Walking Time to Next Stop: You're kind of isolated here. It's a destination, not a crawl stop.
Jardin (Wynn), No Happy Hour But Read This Anyway
Location: Wynn, by the registration desk
Happy Hour: NONE
Type: Full-Price Warning ($$$)
Why I'm Including It: Because tourists wander into Jardin thinking it's a "bar" and get destroyed by prices. $24 cocktails, $18 beers, $30 small plates. It's a fancy restaurant bar, not a hang-out spot.
The One Exception: If you're staying at Wynn and have resort credits to burn, Jardin is actually lovely for breakfast or lunch. Just don't go there for happy hour, it doesn't exist.
XS Nightclub Bar (Encore), Don't Even Think About It
Location: Near the Encore nightclub entrance
Happy Hour: HAHAHAHA no.
Type: Nightclub Prices All Day ($$$$)
The Deal: There is no deal. $18 beers, $22+ cocktails, $600 bottles. This is where people pre-game before dropping $10k on a table at XS. If that's not your vibe (and if you're reading this guide, it's not), keep walking.
The Wynn/Encore Bars WITHOUT Happy Hour (Save Your Money)
Here's the full list of beautiful, expensive bars where you'll pay full freight:
- Baccarat Bar (Wynn): $22-28 cocktails, no deals ever
- Lafitte's (Wynn): Inside SW Steakhouse, $20+ drinks, couples only
- Allegro (Wynn): Elegant but pricey, no HH
- Tower Suites Bar (Wynn): You need a Tower Suites room key to even get in
- Surrender (Encore): Nightclub, see XS notes above
- Society Cafe Bar (Encore): 24hr cafe, normal bar prices ($14-16), no specials
The Pattern: If it looks expensive and fancy, it IS expensive and fancy, and there's no happy hour.
The Wynn/Encore Happy Hour Route (Such As It Is)
Here's the thing: You can't really do a "crawl" at Wynn/Encore like you can at other properties. There aren't enough spots with deals. So here's the realistic approach:
The "One Stop" Move (1 hour)
For: Want to experience Wynn quality without Wynn bankruptcy
- 5:00pm: Go directly to Eastside Lounge (Encore)
- Order 2 cocktails and the truffle fries
- Enjoy the vibe, feel fancy, leave by 6:30pm
- Budget: $40-50 per person with tip
The "Special Occasion" Route (2 hours)
For: Anniversary, date night, trying to impress someone
- 4:30pm: Start at Lakeside (Wynn) if weather is nice, get one drink by the lake
- 5:30pm: Walk to Eastside Lounge (Encore), order cocktails and small plates
- 7:00pm: Done with happy hour, either leave or commit to a nice dinner
- Budget: $60-75 per person with tip
The "Realist" Route (45 minutes)
For: Just want to see what the hype is about, not trying to go broke
- 5:00pm: Eastside Lounge (Encore), ONE cocktail
- 5:30pm: Walk through the property, gawk at the fancy people
- 5:45pm: Leave Wynn/Encore, go literally anywhere else for better deals
- Budget: $20-25 per person with tip
Insider Intel: Wynn/Encore Happy Hour Hacks
Best Day: Monday or Tuesday. Least crowded, easier to get Eastside Lounge seats, bartenders have more time to actually talk to you.
Worst Day: Thursday. It's the new Friday in Vegas, and Eastside gets packed with locals who know about it.
Dress Code: Business casual minimum. Collared shirt for guys, no sneakers. Women have more flexibility but keep it classy. You CAN get away with nice jeans, but not distressed/ripped.
Parking Hack: If you're a Nevada resident, parking is free at Wynn with ID. Out-of-staters pay $20-30 unless you're a Red Card member (requires gambling history).
Red Card Status: Wynn's player's club. If you gamble here even a little, sign up. Sometimes you'll get "exclusive" happy hour invites or resort credits. Worth it if you're a regular.
The Breakfast Hack: This isn't happy hour related, but if you want to experience Wynn without insane costs, do breakfast at Terrace Pointe Cafe or Tableau. $18-22 for amazing food, much better value than dinner.
What Wynn/Encore Does Better Than Everywhere Else
Let's be fair: even though the happy hour scene is limited, when Wynn does something, they do it RIGHT.
Service: Bartenders here are trained professionals. They know classic cocktails, they use fresh ingredients, they give a shit. You're not getting a vodka-Red Bull from someone who learned to bartend last week.
Ambiance: Every bar is gorgeous. Fresh flowers, perfect lighting, comfortable seating, no sticky floors or stale beer smell.
Quality: That $12 happy hour cocktail at Eastside Lounge is better than most $18 cocktails on the Strip. Premium spirits, fresh juice, proper ice, correct glassware.
The Crowd: Generally older, quieter, more sophisticated. If you're tired of screaming over Top 40 remixes at pool parties, Wynn bars are a breath of fresh air.
The Real Talk: Is Wynn/Encore Worth It for Happy Hour?
Short Answer: Not really, unless you're already there.
Longer Answer: Eastside Lounge is legitimately good and worth a visit. But that's ONE spot on two massive properties. You can't make an evening of it like you can at Aria or Cosmo.
If you're staying at Wynn/Encore, 100% hit Eastside Lounge Monday-Thursday 5-7pm. It's the best deal on property and a genuinely nice experience.
If you're NOT staying there and you're specifically hunting happy hours? Skip it. The parking is expensive, the walk from the garage is long, and there are better options within a 10-minute drive.
The Exception: If you want to feel fancy without spending fancy money, Eastside Lounge delivers that experience better than almost anywhere on the Strip. It's not the cheapest happy hour, but it might be the most "worth it" if ambiance and quality matter to you.
Quick Reference: Wynn/Encore Happy Hours at a Glance
| Spot | Days | Hours | Best Deal | Vibe |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eastside Lounge | Mon-Thu | 5-7pm | $12 cocktails | Intimate/classy |
| Lakeside | Mon-Fri (seasonal) | 4-6pm | $10 drafts | Outdoor/scenic |
| Parasol Up/Down | Sporadic | Varies | Ask bartender | Instagram-ready |
Everything Else: No happy hour. Prepare your wallet accordingly.
The Bottom Line: Wynn/Encore is NOT a happy hour destination. It's a "I want one really good cocktail in a beautiful setting" destination. Set your expectations correctly, hit Eastside Lounge, enjoy the luxury, then go somewhere else to actually save money. You're welcome.
