A view is not a happy hour
Plenty of Las Vegas rooftops charge a premium for the elevation and never discount a thing. The venues here are the ones that pair the patio with a genuine happy hour, so you are paying resort prices on the room and locals prices on the round. That combination is rarer than the skyline photos suggest, which is why this list is shorter than you might expect.
Read each venue card for the window before you commit. A rooftop that only discounts from 3 to 5 PM is a different plan than one that runs to 7, especially when you are timing a drink against the sunset.
How to time a rooftop happy hour
The sweet spot in summer is the last hour of the window, when the deck cools off and the light over the Strip turns gold. Arrive 30 minutes before the discount ends and you can order at happy hour pricing while settling in for the better view. Winter flips this. The patios get cold fast after dark, so the early end of the window is more comfortable.
Wind and dress code are the two things people forget. Upper floors catch a breeze that the casino floor never sees, and a few of these spots enforce a smart casual policy after a certain hour. When in doubt, call ahead before you build a night around the rooftop.
